Practical Test

On the day of the Practical Test, it is certainly a nerve-jangling experience, and one that you most likely never to forget, but heres hoping its all for a good reason!

IT IS SOLELY AT THE DISCRETION OF THE INSTRUCTOR TO DEEM THAT YOU ARE SUITABLE TO GO OUT ON TEST, AND THAT THEIR DECISION IS FINAL.

You will require to read a number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres. (Approximately 4 car lengths). As well as that, you will need to show the examiner your Provisional Card Licence.

The driving test will last approximately 40 minutes taking into account various road and traffic conditions. There will be an approximate 20 minute drive consisting of Independent Driving, where you will require to follow one of the following unaided:

 : Maps or Road Signs

 : Satellite Navigation System (Sat Nav)

You will also have to do 1 compulsory manoeuvre with the possibility of an Emergency Stop (not compulsory). The compulsory manoeuvres that the examiner can choose from are:

 : Parallel Park (Or Reverse Park)

 : Bay Parking (Either FORWARD into the bay OR REVERSE into the bay - Do ONE or the other)

 : Pull Up Right Side of Road then Reverse 2 Car Lengths

You are allowed to commit up to 15 Minor driving faults (and no more). Anything more than that will be deemed as a fail. A Serious or a Dangerous driving fault is deemed as an automatic fail.
